Divine “I DOs” – Rhudine and Larry

On a steamy summer day this past June, I received a phone call from our then soon-to-be client, Rhudine! She was had been referred to us and stated that she was in needed of just a little bit of help! She and her fiance, Larry wanted to get married on her birthday, July 9th (which on the day we first communicated on the phone was a little over 30 days away)!  “Great”, I said…”What plans do you have in place thus far?” Rhudine replied, “The only thing I have is my cake and the date”! “No problem”, I said and in my best Larry the Cable Guy voice, I said, “Let’s GIT-R-DONE”! :D We both laughed and our planning begun!

Although Rhudine was very adamant regarding the date, we encouraged them to considered hosting their nuptials on Sunday instead of Saturday due to certain budget restrictions! In addition, Rhudine had expressed that she and Larry wanted a very intimate ceremony and reception. She had thought about a hotel but wanted a venue that was charming, quaint and sweet! Our suggestion was The Mary Gay House! It is a beautiful restored home built in the 1820s that offered the quaint and intimate setting they were seeking! It was a simply perfect for their wedding allowing them to have a late afternoon outdoor ceremony and then proceed indoors for the reception!

Rhudine wanted their wedding day decor to be simple but elegant and definitely incorporate her chosen color palette of lavender and ivory! We created period appropriate centerpieces as well as the floral for the bridal party!

So, in a little over 30 days we planned Rhudine and Larry’s dream wedding complete with venue, great photography, catering, floral and decor, attire and accommodations for out of town guests! Let me just say that I definitely took a couple days off after this wedding! :)

It was simply beautiful and we enjoyed working with them! My team and I wish them many, many more wonderful years of marriage in the future!A BIG thank you to all the vendors who helped make Rhudine and Larry’s wedding day wonderful:

When RaChell and I first talked, we hit it off immediately! After all we shared many things in common, both have a strong sense of faith and family, we are both  from South Carolina, both shared the experience of being a bride planning a wedding in an entirely different state (for RaChell she was in South Carolina…planning an Atlanta Wedding  and for me I was in Texas at the time…planning my wedding in South Carolina) and we are both lovers of Social Media, we now follow each other on Twitter!

Initially, RaChell only wanted us to design her flowers for her wedding party! However, as time progressed and unexpected events developed (as they sometimes do when planning a wedding), our team assisted her and John in planning a  completely different wedding  then we originally talked about and they had envisioned!

Here’s the short version of the story, the venue they originally picked, booked and paid for their reception….changed management and somehow did NOT have their dates on their books! Their original venue booked another couple for their date and time slot and told them their was nothing they could do! Well, we definitely could not have that…so, our team got to work…first helping them get their funds returned and then we assisted them in finding a completely new venue for the reception! The perfect location was Lambert Place!

The availability of Lambert Place was truly a blessings! Not only did Lambert have their date available, they offered full-service catering as well! After visiting the venue, RaChell fell in love with the earthly neutral interior which was a perfect match for her “Fall in Love in Summer” color palette of  rich golds, brown and burnt orange! So, she and John decided to make Lambert Place their ceremony location as well! How divine is that? :)

We had a blasted servicing RaChell, John and their families! Here are just a few of my fave moments from their day:

Floral Design by Divine Occasions

Wedding Cake by Sweet Infinity Cakes

The beautiful cake above was created by the sensational Juanita Threlkeld of Sweet Infinity Cakes! It was simply delicious!

One of the special elements that RaChell and John incorporated was they Unity Cross!  It was truly a significant moment for them and them to demonstrate as well as symbolize their faith in God individually as well as couple!

RaChell and John's Unity Cross Ceremony

We are thankful that their friend and photographer for their wedding day, Corey G. of Cyoer Photography was gracious enough to forward this video to us which captured additional moments! As you watch the video, please join me in wishing RaChell and John continued blessings as well as a beautiful and blessed marriage!

The time has simply flown by since our team had the opportunity to service our client, Angel who asked us to design the decor for her 30th!  We definitely wanted to share the details of Angel’s evening and hope you enjoy!

Angel chose to host an elegant private dinner for 25 of her closest friends and family at one of our fave locations,  The Cellar at Lobby Bar and Bistro! This location was simply perfect because it’s located in one of the most popular places to visit in Atlanta, Atlantic Station and provided an intimate yet uniquely elegant setting she longed for.

The Cellar at Lobby’s dramatic wall wine rack and sleek contemporary style complimented her decor wishlist’s and incorporated her favorite color combo, hot pink and brown with touches of “bling”.

From the table linen and floral selected to her custom invitations, designed by Sandy Spells  and fantastic 100% nut and allergy free cake created by Cake in the Box Bakery, all of the smallest details were addressed!  We simply loved the quote from Oprah Winfrey that Sandy included on Angel’s invitation, “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”!

One of the cutest elements we incorporated were the rhinestone and crystal bracelets seen above! We used them as napkin rings and her friends were able to have them after the dinner as a keepsake from the evening! They were a hit!

Pictured below on the right is our birthday host, Angel! Her smile is a great indicator that she truly enjoyed the evening and we had an amazing time working with her! We wish you many, many more wonderful birthdays to come!

Special Occasion Cake – Cake in the Box Bakery

Venue & Catering - The Cellar at Lobby Bar & Bisto

I absolutely had to share one of our divine finds, Uniquely Cliffed by A.T. Bostic! Uniquely Cliffed only speaks to a portion of what the entire collection has to offer which includes earrings, cufflinks, rings, beaded novelities and bracelets/cuffs  (like the ones seen above which were designed to match the bride’s color palette of scarlet, black and white)!

A.T. Bostic is the mastermind behind the brand and brings a unique perspective for gifts brides and grooms can offer to their wedding party as well as family and friends! Each piece is hand crafted using artistic glass, metal, shell, gemstone, horn, and bone components; and displays Bostic’s extreme talent for the unique, refined yet fun!

If you are out and about in the city at one of the many arts and crafts festivals or at Atlantic Station, you will more than likely see A.T. and his wife showcasing his fantastic collection! Or you can let your fingers do the virtual shopping via his website to find more uniquely cuffed items!

Photo credits: A BIG thank you to our past client, LaChandra, whose  bridesmaids and maid of honor received the cuffs above as gifts on her wedding day! A BIG thank you also to the photography talents of LuvSick Photography!

Lovin’ this ATL Venue: The Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum

I simply love the “A” as I fondly call it…Atlanta! I love all of the great history of the city as well as wonderful options of venue spaces available from Antebellum mansions and historical sites to hip/trendy lofts, converted tabernacles, industrial spaces as well as museums!

The “ATL” as it is referred to by its official international airport code is the home of the world’s largest airline operating under a single certificate, Delta Airlines! (Total brainiac fact) Another brainiac fact, Delta operates in the world’s largest and busiest hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)!

Located on the Delta campus is The Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum. It is an absolutely unique space that is great for any occasions and is perfect for a couple with eclectic taste! We had a great time on our recent tour of this venue and the stats are quite impressive!

The two 1940s-era hangars are massive to say the least! With the capacity to comfortably accommodate over 1,000 – Historic Hangar Two offers over 90,000 square feet of space and is one heck of a ceremony/reception or wedding celebration location! Historic Hangar One is available for a more intimate group (see photo above)! The history of the airline is everywhere from the planes (that are available for viewing and touring during your event) to the actual location itself! It is an awesome choice for a hometown couple or jet-setting lovers of flying and airplanes! Just recently the museum hosted its first wedding… congratulations to the happy couple seen below!

Here’s a great photo of Historic Hangar 2!

Overall, the venue is definitely not “cookie cutter” which is an absolute joy for us and offers an unique alternative for the couple seeking something “different”! A very “BIG” thank you to the awesome staff at the Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum for taking such great care of us!

To keep up with all the “happenings” at the museum be sure and check out their Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum Facebook page! I am sure they will love it if you “like” them!
